Frequently asked questions (italian only)

Here you can find all the questions that are usually asked of me, divided into some major categories:

You photographed me at a fair...

  1. Where can I find the photos?
  2. The album page is visible to registered users. I can't publish photos for which I don't have a release.

  3. Why are the photos no longer available?
  4. The photos are available for two weeks, if the subject doesn't contact me in time, I delete them, after all, web space costs money.

  5. Can I have the photos by email?
  6. I photograph dozens of people every day and I can't spend hours sorting and sending photos to each subject. The photos can only be downloaded from the album page of my website.

  7. Why do I have to register?
  8. Because by law, without a release, I cannot make the material I shot public, so I have to limit access to the subjects I have portrayed.

  9. (follows from the previous one) But everyone publishes them on social media!
  10. Great way to earn likes and followers. I, on the other hand, respect the law.

  11. I don't receive the account confirmation email!
  12. Try another method or contact me and I will provide you with a personal access link.

  13. I can't see the photos!
  14. Check that you have completed the registration of your account on this site and that you are logged in.

  15. I can't find the button to download the photos!
  16. Check that you have requested and obtained consent to publish from your user profile.

  17. I can't download the photos from my phone!
  18. Some smartphones use an external download manager or open links inside external apps (Instagram). Paste the link into the web browser of your phone. Enable cookies or simply use a PC.

  19. I can't download any more photos!
  20. There is a limit to the number of photos that can be downloaded in a day because someone in the past took advantage of it to download photos that were not theirs. Choose only the best photos that represent you, it is useless to download blurry, dark or photos that you don't like. If you need to download other photos you can continue the next day.

  21. The photos are all grainy!
  22. You have probably downloaded the thumbnail (the icon)! You must use the download button that you find when the photo is in full screen.

  23. Will you publish the photos on social media?
  24. No, by law it is not possible to publish photos of a recognizable subject without them having first provided a release.

  25. Can I ask for a photo that is no longer available?
  26. If you have not granted the online release within the established time, the photo will be deleted.

  27. Why do you delete the photos after a certain time?
  28. Because I want to keep only the material for which I have a release.

  29. Can I use the photos that portray me on social media?
  30. Certainly, I allow the subject any non-advertising or commercial use.

  31. Can I use them for a contest?
  32. Usually yes, but I would like to know.

  33. Can I use them on Patreon or Onlyfans?
  34. Without an agreement I strictly prohibit the use of photos obtained free of charge from me for commercial purposes.

  35. Can I modify your photo?
  36. Only those that I have not signed.

  37. Can I modify a signed work of yours?
  38. NO.

  39. Do I have to cite you when I publish your photos?
  40. If you want to put a link to www.byza.it I'm happy.

  41. Can I request the deletion of a photo?
  42. Yes, contact me indicating the name/number of the photo otherwise I won't be able to find it.

  43. Can you make changes to the photo you took of me?
  44. I prefer not to work on commission, but try to contact me and we'll see.

  45. Can I have the photos exclusively?
  46. Certainly, you can buy the digital negatives at any time.

  47. Why do only some have your signature?
  48. The signed photos were chosen from those of the subjects who have filled out a release.

I want to do a photoshoot...

There are myths and legends about photoshoots, so first of all, let's clarify some essential concepts!

  49. Amateur photographer or professional?
  50. I prefer to shoot what interests me as an amateur photographer, that is, free of charge, but I don't work for free for those who sell my photos on OnlyFans, Ko-fi or similar...

  51. What is a photoshoot?
  52. A photoshoot is a complex project that is usually carried out in a studio or in a location suitable for the purpose. It requires several hours of work both before, for setting up the set, and after the shooting session, for the post-production of the photos.

  53. Do you do photoshoots at fairs?
  54. Do you think that a warehouse full of people is the right place to seriously do a photoshoot? If you want to buy products or services inside the fairgrounds, contact the exhibitors. If you really want to get ripped off five euros for a photo taken in a hurry, don't wait for the fair, you can find magnificent machines in your trusted supermarket.

  55. How does a free photoshoot work?
  56. It starts with a release (TF) which is an agreement between the photographer and the subject. The photographer obtains the right to publish the image of the subject. The subject obtains a copy of the photographer's shots. Usually in a TF the digital negatives (RAW) remain with the photographer.

  57. How does a paid photoshoot work?
  58. A paid photoshoot is a photo service of at least one hour carried out by a professional. Remember that if you pay, the photos are yours: this means that only you can publish them, sell them or dispose of them as you see fit. The digital negatives (RAW) and the payment receipt attest to your ownership of all the material produced.

  59. How many photos do I get in a photoshoot?
  60. After taking a photoshoot you will have a private link with all the previews where you can choose and/or download the ones you like. If you publish the previews I will not do further processing: what would be the point of wasting more time on something that has already been shown? Instead, if you are patient, I will dedicate a few more hours to retouching. Note: the more photos you choose, the less time I will dedicate to each individual photo, so I advise you to choose only five or six so that I can take care of each one to the best of my ability.

  61. What information do you need to organize a photoshoot?
    • The date
    • The characters played
    • The type of setting desired
    • How many post-produced photos do you want to create
    • The presence of special effects

  62. Do you have a studio?
  63. Yes, my studio is located in the Rovato (BS) area, not far from the train station of the same name and the A4 motorway exit.

  64. Can I be accompanied?
  65. I have nothing against companions if the space where we shoot is large enough not to have to elbow my way every time I change the frame. I do not accept strangers brought to the studio without notice and in general I do not do shibari with spectators.

  66. I had an unforeseen event can we postpone?
  67. I agree to postpone a photoshoot only with sufficient notice and if a new date is set at the same time. If you cancel your commitment with unconvincing excuses and you are not interested in finding another time to shoot, I don't think we will see each other again.

  68. Where can I find the releases?
  69. If you are at least 14 years old, you can use this template, available for download after registering on the site.

    Releases, copyright, privacy...

  70. What is a photo release form for?
  71. The release form is the document that authorizes the photographer to use the subject's image and grants the subject the right to use the photographic work.

  72. When do I need to get a photo release?
  73. Always when you are clearly recognizable in the foreground, even if the photo was taken in a public place. It is not necessary for group photos with at least three people.

  74. From what age do I not need parental consent?
  75. From the age of 14: Law 633/41 does not specify a minimum age, but the GDPR, with Legislative Decree 101 of August 10, 2018, sets the minimum age to autonomously exercise this right at 14.

  76. I've already signed a release form in the past, do I need to sign another one?
  77. Yes, the release form has a specific place and date, so it is only valid for photos related to the event indicated.

  78. Isn't the release form signed at fair contests enough?
  79. No, at fairs, a release form is usually filled out regarding liability in case of accidents. This is different from what is required for photographers. Sometimes, however, organizers may include this type of authorization, which is obviously only valid for official photographers of that event.

  80. Is the release form done before or after the photoshoot?
  81. The subject's consent must always be obtained before shooting.

  82. Can I revoke the release form?
  83. Data processing can always be revoked, even on those release forms that state "irrevocable." This causes a lot of problems, but I don't want to bore you with further considerations...

  84. Where can I find release forms to fill out?
  85. Contact me with your age and how you intend to use the photos, and I will send you the most suitable release form for the situation.

  86. What does copyright law say?
  87. Italian law no. 633 of April 22, 1941, deals with image rights. In short: the shots belong to the photographer. It is always possible to take photos in public places (but see the next point). The publication of a portrait of a person who is not well-known requires the subject's consent (Art. 97).

  88. What does privacy law say?
  89. EU Regulation 679 of 2016, known as GDPR, states that acquiring an image of a face means processing data. It is therefore always necessary to inform the subject before taking the photograph (Art. 13). However, obtaining authorization for processing is only necessary in case of disseminating the captured image to third parties (e.g., publication). Mine is directly available on this site.

    Miscellaneous

  90. Who are you?
  91. Who is only the form resulting from the function, but what I am is a photographer passionate about manga and anime who has been doing photography for many years.

  92. Why should I trust you?
  93. Ask those who have already shot with me. In general, I am the first to tell you not to trust photographers who often change their names, do not show their faces on the internet and perhaps do not have a minimum of history behind them.

  94. What do you like to shoot?
  95. I like to create shibari photography, also combined with cosplay.

  96. Why can't I see the photos from previous years?
  97. Because over time people change and it can happen that they no longer want to show the photos that portray them for work or other reasons.

  98. Why do you have so few photos on social media?
  99. Social networks live by profiting from users' content and pay them in visibility. No thanks.

  100. Is it true that you made cinema?
  101. Until 2012 I worked as a stuntman in numerous films, see my IMDB page to learn more.

  102. There's a chicken!
  103. It could be a problem with cookies: try viewing the photos from your PC.
